Project 31 began in early 2011 as an idea between two experienced community workers, Lorna Bamford and Elizabeth Dewar who were looking to develop a truly creative, responsive, productive and innovative organisation for children aged 0-12 years and their families in an area where there was a genuine need and a local will to instigate better lives and greater opportunities.  Established as a charity in March 2012 following a year long feasibility study, Project 31 has worked with thousands of local people and in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Now based on Hamilton Road in Rutherglen, Project 31 works throughout Rutherglen and Cambuslang but can sometimes be found in wider South Lanarkshire. The project delivers a wide range of activities and events, all of which are free of charge to participants, providing truly accessible opportunities for children, parents, families, the over 60's and the wider community.
